The Boot!

Hello Friends!

Well! Sorry it has been so long since an update. I have been rather busy. Not much new to report other than my health. As most of you know I was the lucky recipient of a severe high ankle sprain last March, thanks to Buddy the Dog. Back then I was treated with an aircast (the boot) and instructed to use crutches. Unfortunately, this was around the same time as our teen production for our theatre company. So due to how mobile I had to be and how much the crutches and aircast were slowing me down I decided to ditch everything a little earlier and just deal with the pain. Then of course that lead me straight into another production that I was in and still just working through the pain. Which, brings us to a couple of weeks ago. Through all of this, my ankle (the left one) has never fully heeled. It has unfortunately remained swollen, slightly discolored and caused me tons of pain. During this whole time, I have favored that ankle by taking it as easy as I could and putting more pressure on my other one (the right one).

So, about two weeks ago I started noticing a pain in the right one that each day became worse. Finally, this last weekend I couldn't take it anymore and went to an orthopedic on Monday. This proved to be a horrible experience, the Dr. and his staff were horrible and I was NOT happy. He did order an MRI for me for both ankles and prescribed a pain medication for me which caused other problems, namely a horrible case of nausea! I had the MRI done on Thursday, stopped the meds and made an appointment with a new orthopedic for Monday. In the meantime, the boot that was originally used for the left ankle is now being used on the right and the pain in both ankles is horrible. So...I will be sure to let you all know what happens next week. Whatever happens, I just want it resolved. That's all for now. PEACE OUT!

Down the Drain!!!

Hey All-

Never a dull moment in Baileyville. Two nights ago we discovered a slight back up with our drain. We thought we had it under control going into last night...boy were we mistaken. That drain backed up and brought everything with it. There was no stopping it. Shavita became "Toilet Paper" girl complete with plastic bag covered hands, a hair scarf covering her face as if she was going to rob the drain, and nothing on but panties and wife beater. Her mission: shovel up the refuse that had made its way into our basement. By refuse, I mean toilet paper and other such FUN things. She was VERY brave and I was VERY proud. My mission was to hose down after bleaching and just all around clean up. Everything was going pretty well until Shavita took a shower and we did laundry. Back up city again and this time, it was going nowhere!

I called Roto Rooter this morning and at approximately 10:00 AM a serviceman arrived and began to work. After 45 minutes he discovered the major problem in our main plumbing line. Are you ready? (Drumroll please) TAMPONS! Yes, Tampons. Shavita had flushed a $328.00 tampon down the toilet. Oh well! It was fun and it could have been anything. Let this be a lesson to all of you. Be careful what you flush. It may come back to haunt you!

Peace Out!

Here, you will find ramblings about my life with my gorgeous wife, amazing daughter, our two dogs and our VERY busy Theatre life! Perhaps a little boring compared to the previous blog, but alas I can assure you there will never be a dull moment. So, link to me and let the ramblings begin.....
